Choose the receiving location before dispatch
Send the complete delivery address, receiving contact, and any appointment or intake instructions. An auction name alone may not identify the correct entrance, lot, or account. Include a sale or consignment reference when the receiving facility uses one.
Confirm that the destination is ready to accept the vehicle. If an appointment, paperwork review, or release approval is still outstanding, identify who will resolve it before a carrier is scheduled.
Describe the vehicle’s loading condition
- State whether the vehicle starts, rolls, steers, and brakes.
- Confirm whether keys are available and where they will be collected.
- Describe known damage, low clearance, flat tires, or missing parts that could affect loading.
- Provide the VIN and the existing condition report so the correct asset is released.
- Identify any agreed restrictions on how the vehicle is moved.
Document the custody handoff
Transport should connect the storage release to the destination receipt. The lender should be able to identify the vehicle released, the approved recipient, the departure condition, and the delivery outcome. Keys and paperwork should be accounted for separately from personal belongings.
A condition record helps distinguish observations at recovery from changes noted during a later handoff. See our condition-report page for the information that makes those comparisons useful.
Confirm the scope and price of the move
A recovery assignment and a later auction delivery are different tasks. Tell us whether transport is part of your original instructions or an additional move after storage. We can then discuss the destination, vehicle condition, timing, and carrier requirements for that move.
Contact us before promising a delivery appointment to another party. The receiving facility’s availability and the vehicle’s loading needs can affect scheduling.
